Upload Recording File to Descript

Import the original audio file into a new project for Descript to automatically transcribe.

Create a new project, drag and drop the audio or video interview file into Descript, and wait for the system to generate the transcript.

Use high-quality audio files with minimal background noise for more accurate transcription.

Directly Delete Excess Parts on the Text

Read the transcript and delete any segments with pauses, stumbles, or irrelevant details.

Highlight the text segment to delete on the transcript and press Delete, the corresponding audio will automatically be cut accordingly.

Use the "Remove Filler Words" feature in the Correct menu to automatically remove multiple filler sounds with just one click.

Improve Audio Quality

Apply audio filters to reduce background noise and normalize volume.

Select the entire audio segment, go to Effects > Studio Sound, enable the feature to automatically remove noise and normalize volume.

Listen to a sample before and after applying Studio Sound to ensure the voice is not distorted.

Insert Corrections with Overdub if Necessary

Fix a mispronounced sentence without needing to re-record the entire segment.

Highlight the word or sentence that needs correction, select Overdub, type the new content for AI to generate a voice that matches the original voice.

Overdub requires prior training of the voice with a few minutes of the original sample for the most natural results.

Export Final Recording

Export the final audio or video file to upload to the podcast platform.

Go to the Export section, choose the MP3 format for the podcast or MP4 if there is accompanying video, and download the file to your computer.
