Create a New Publication

Set up basic information for the newsletter such as name, description, and domain.

Sign up for an account at beehiiv.com, create a new Publication, fill in the name, logo, and a short description of the newsletter content.

Choose a short, memorable newsletter name that directly relates to the value you provide to readers.

Design the Signup Page

Customize the landing page to collect subscribers.

Go to Settings > Subscribe Page, edit the title, images, and call-to-action to fit your brand.

Add a specific benefit right on the signup page, for example, 'Get weekly business tips', to increase conversion rates.

Draft Content with AI Assistant

Use AI to help write the title and content of the first article.

Go to the editor, select AI Assistant, enter the topic and request suggestions for an appealing title and content outline.

Always read and edit the AI-suggested content to ensure the right tone and accurate information.

Set Up the Referral Program

Activate the growth feature so that current readers can invite new subscribers.

Go to Grow > Referral Program, set up rewards for readers who successfully refer others, such as exclusive content.

Set an easily achievable reward threshold at the first level, for example, inviting 3 people, to encourage sharing from the start.

Send the First Issue

Double-check all content and schedule the send at an appropriate time.

Preview the email on both desktop and mobile, select the send time, and click Publish & Send.

Sending on Tuesday or Thursday typically has better open rates than at the beginning or end of the week.

Monitor and Optimize Based on Data

Analyze open rates and clicks after sending to improve the next issue.

Go to the Analytics tab, view open rates and clicks for each link, and take note of which content is most engaging.

Test A/B titles for future issues if the open rate is below 25%.
